New Institute Photocards

This initiative, supported by VisitEngland, aims to further elevate the standards of the tourism industry and provide greater recognition for Institute-qualified guides.
The new photocard features include:
- Up-to-date, passport-style photo of the qualified guide
- Photocard validation expiry date
- Guiding qualifications
- The regions and the languages the guide is qualified to guide in
- A QR code for verification of guide’s credentials
These new photocards enhance security and provide a visual symbol of the professionalism of qualified tourist guides, reassuring visitors, the tourism and heritage sectors, and local communities that they are dealing with a fully trained, qualified and expert guide.
"Tourist guides are an integral part of the tourism experience, providing visitors with enriching and memorable journeys," said Institute President, Jackie Clare. "The new photocards will enhance recognition of our guides. Visitors can feel confident that they are in safe hands and will receive the highest quality of service. "
The Institute of Tourist Guiding is committed to promoting excellence in tourist guiding and upholding the highest standards of professionalism. The new photocard is one example of this commitment.
