City of London Green Badge Course 2026/2027

This Green Badge course is aimed at all those who have an interest in guiding in the Square Mile.

Course Detail

The course offers an in-depth study of the historical, architectural, and contemporary City of London. Participants will learn how to assimilate this knowledge and how to select and present information in order to lead visitors on guided tours. Participants will also develop the practical skills needed to conduct guided tours

No prior knowledge of the City or of guiding skills is required. The course is open to all and selection is by successful application and interview.

The course consists of 30 two-hour evening sessions, and 15 two-hour sessions on Saturday mornings/afternoons plus one full Saturday. The course is assessed by a project, two practical assessments and a written examination. Successful candidates will receive a certificate from the City of London Corporation, the City of London Guides Badge which entitles them to guide within the City of London, and an Institute of Tourist Guiding Green Badge.

Please note: This is a year-long course also requiring 180 self-study hours.
