Revalidation Policy

This policy explains the actions required for those wishing to re-join the Institute after having had their membership lapse or stopped guiding for a certain period of time.

The Institute's revalidation policy applies to:

• Institute members in the Career Break and Retired categories who wish to return to active tourist guiding after a break of three years or more.
• Guides who wish to rejoin the Institute after letting their membership lapse for three years or more.
• Guides who have never joined the Institute and are applying for membership three years or more after qualification.
