'York Minster'
Institute Accredited Endorsement Course

York Minster is one of the greatest gothic architectural
achievements in Europe. This highly acclaimed course offers
participants the opportunity to gain a detailed knowledge of the
Minster's history, architecture and purpose through a series of
tailor made lectures and tours. On successful completion of this
course, participants will be able to guide their own groups within
the Minster, giving them information for their specific
interests.
Lectures and tours are delivered by lecturers, education
officers, guides and staff at York Minster, who are all specialists
in their fields. As well as covering a general history of York
Minster, the course covers the Minster's architecture, stained
glass, monuments and heraldry, and there are specialist tours of
areas inaccessible to the general public, such as the Minster's
Stoneyard, York Glaziers Trust workshops, and visits to inside the
Chapter House roof spaces and Mason's Loft. The course also
covers operational and Health & Safety procedures.
Course Fee: The cost of the course is £300 per
candidate and includes tuition fees. However, candidates are
responsible for making their own arrangements for travel,
accommodation and meals.
