Adding Interests and Locations

Members and Associates can add Interests and Locations to their profiles for the Directory and online Guide Search.

To do this, log into the membership section of the website and click the tab called Services. You can have a limitless number of these for your Web Profile (for your entry on the Guide Search) but you can only have a maximum of six of these combined for your Printed Profile (for your entry in the Directory).

Remember, if you do not add any Interests or Locations, these columns will appear blank in the Directory.

For instructions on adding these to your profile, please read below:

To add a Location or Interest, click on the green circle. From the drop down box that appears, select either LOCATIONS or SPECIAL INTERESTS. If you have chosen LOCATIONS, next choose the region you want to select the location from, for example: NORTH WEST ENGLAND. Then, within this region, pick the area your location is in, for example: GREATER MANCHESTER. Finally, choose the location (or site) you want to add, for example: THE LOWRY. Click on the green tick to confirm your selection.

The system will not allow you to add locations for areas in which you are not qualified.

Interests are selected in the same way as for the Locations, but with only two levels to choose from. For example: SPECIAL INTERESTS, then: HISTORIC BUILDINGS and finally: CASTLES.
